Dr. Maya Angelo dubbed him a “giver of joy”. He knew that no matter where his professional ventures might lead him, he wanted this title to be the guiding core of his work. Of his many roles and activities, Clarke considers his most important and treasured role to be that of “Dad” to his two sons. It was an entrepreneurial spirit infused with restless creativity that propelled Clarke from a hotel sales manager to start his own event planning company, Charlotte Arrangements, in 1994. Soon after came Creatrix Design, a full-service design and production house; CenterStage@NoDa, a unique and sought after rental venue; and Legacy Charitable Partners (LCP), a consultative group that assists non-profits with their event and fundraising strategies. Today, all of these businesses operate under the multi-million dollar parent company, The Clarke Allen Group.
